Arjowiggins Creative Papers, in receivership since January 2019, was acquired earlier this month by a consortium of the company's managers via an MBO in partnership with agency Scottish Enterprise.
The paper company will now be managed by a team of eight directors and headed up by current general manager, Jonathan Mitchell. "This MBO safeguards four factories and more than 800 jobs worldwide," explains the manufacturer.
On the product front, at the latest Luxe Pack show in Monaco the supplier presented new additions to its Keaykolour, Curious Metallics, Pop'Set and Conqueror fine paper collections launched in 2018. "We have revamped the Keaykolour range and widened the offer from 20 to 48 shades. These are now organized by color family to make it easier for designers to select the right shade," explains operational marketing manager Virginie Gohlinger. Some 15 colors have also been added to Arjowiggins' Curious Metallics range. "The colors have been concieved so that they can be mixed and matched to play in a bid to play on both visual and tactile effects," she continues. The latest innovation, Curious Alchemy, features five precious metal-inspired shades—silver, titanium, gold, copper and platinum—featuring a hammered finish and patinated metal effect.
In the Creative Packaging offer, a new range, dubbed Delos, offers a wider selection of white and black shades, from Ultra White to Ultra Black, in four finishes with varying levels of "roughness": Rough, Wove, Nature and Smooth. A range of premium recycled products features paper made of either 50% or 100% post-consumer waste, in white or black tones and weights ranging from 160 to 350 grams, which are particularly suited for shopping bags. The Creative Packaging range has also been enhanced with natural felt grain textures (Fine Felt, Epidaure Felt) with 70 embossing patterns within its Geltex collection.
