Argentum Apothecary upgrades secondary packs

In anticipation of its forthcoming fragrance launch, UK-based Argentum Apothecary has unveiled new secondary packaging across its brand portfolio.

Luxury skincare brand Argentum Apothecary has revealed plans to launch its first fragrance collection this year. Ahead of the launch, the brand has revealed new, recyclable secondary packaging for its existing products.

“This is the first time we have redesigned our packaging since the brand was founded in 2010,” Creative Director Sam Gray tells Luxe Packaging Insight. “We are preparing to launch our first collection of fragrances this year, which will be packaged in pop-up book-boxes. When looking at these forthcoming packs alongside our existing range, we felt it was time for a revamp to embrace a more sophisticated and coherent secondary packaging design for our current skus.”

Designed in-house, the monochrome book-boxes (Pusterla Pollards) feature illustrations from UK-based illustrator Joe Wilson. They use less material compared to Argentum’s previous secondary packs. The company opted for FSC-certified paper (UPM Communication Papers’ UPM Fine and Winter & Company’s Wibalin Natural Black), which is offset printed with vegetable-based inks. Silver hot foil is used for both the sleeve and the poetry inscribed on inside cover of the box. Removable paper inserts allow the boxes to be kept and reused.

The brand’s primary packaging remains unchanged – its violet glass bottles and jars (Miron) devoid of facing labels are topped with PET caps (Erwin Grossmann) embossed with the brand and product name.

Argentum Apothecary is present in around 25 countries, with Asia its main market. In addition to its refillable fragrances launching in 2022, the brand is also set to open its first flagship store – in London’s Notting Hill – this year.
