Through a partnership with anodized aluminum packaging supplier Anomatic, aluminum rolling and recycling specialist Novelis has added to its everycle portfolio with the launch of a 100% recycled aluminum alloy for cosmetics.
The new evercycle Cosmetics alloy developed by Novelis and Anomatic “meets the stringent criteria for anodizing and the aesthetic expectations for cosmetics and beauty packaging,” according to the two companies.
Greg Beeman, Vice President of Supply Chain at Anomatic, highlighted that the joint development of the alloy was done in “a challenging and disruptive metal supply environment.”
Some 90 to 95% of Anomatic’s turnover comes from the beauty market. The company is specialized in aluminum processing, from tooling design to decoration and assembly, and also has plastic injection capabilities. With five plants, including four in the United States and one in China, its annual production capacity is 1.7 billion parts in anodizing, 1 billion in stamping and 100 million in metallizing. The majority of its capital is currently held by German investment company Thyssen.
