Tabu, a Lombardy-based family company founded nearly a century ago, defines itself as a “wood couture” workshop. An expert in natural dyed veneers and multilaminar wood veneers, the company has partnered with Italian packaging supplier Cavallini to offer a line of wooden labels and cases. Brands can choose from 12 types of wood—all FSC certified—including ash, birch or oak, with delivery within three weeks, according to Cavallini. The materials currently offer a thickness of 0.3 mm, which will soon be reduced to 0.2 mm. Cavallini ensures that it can easily meet demand given Tabu’s portfolio of more than 550 natural varnishes.
“At a time when environmental issues are key, wood is the ultimate natural material, as it is reliable, unique and in constant evolution,” explains Cavallini founder Tommaso Cavallini. With Tabu we share a propensity for innovation combined with a long experience and a strong craft culture. We address luxury brands that are sensitive to “Made in Italy” as well as our motto “Dress up your Luxury Project”.
Tabu sources all of its raw materials from FSC-certified forests. It supplies the naval, luxury automotive and interior design industries in the woodwork, flooring and decoration sectors.
